Guimerà is a municipality of the area of the Urgell, in Lleida.

It is found in the valley of the Corb river. The major human body of houses, previously walled, rests on the North slope of the valley. The streets and the properties prolong over mountain from the river-bed.

Guimerà es un municipio de la comarca del Urgell, en Lleida.

Se sitúa en el valle del río Corb. El núcleo principal de casas, antiguamente amurallado, reposa sobre la vertiente norte del valle. Las calles y las casas se extienden montaña arriba desde el lecho del río.

Aún se conservan parte de las murallas, con sus 9 puertas, la atalaya del castillo de Guimerà y casas centenarias, así como la nevera medieval.

También se conoce Guimerà como ‘El nueve de Copas’, ya que la vista del pueblo desde el río es un amontonamiento de casas unas sobre otras.

La actividad principal del pueblo es la agricultura de secano.

A mediados de agosto se celebra una feria medieval, con puestos de artesanos y de oficios antiguos, y algunas actuaciones.

Los edificios más notables del municipio son los restos del castillo y la iglesia de Santa María.
