Circa 1275-1300 headwear experiment continues

Here is a more try at 1275-1300 or so headwear to put on with medieval garb. (Sorry, only the headwear is medieval in this pic, even though.) The hairnet is the one particular I created a couple of weeks in the past. The hat is a sort of &quotpie crust&quot hat like the ones in the Manesse Codex. It is made of linen. The linen barbette (chin band) is a new endeavor, and if you search at the period of time pictures here you see that many of them have a line likely up the aspect of the head, type of angled in the middle of the barbette. Observe that my new edition of the barbette also has this line! I need to have to pin the barbette lower on the higher back of my head, although, to get the most authentic look.

See my prior photograph for much more examples of the hairnet in this kind of design.

This looks to me a hundred% greater than the earlier picture I posted. It also looks to be very secure — it really is not heading everywhere, as opposed to some of the veils I’ve worn on windy days! I imagine I am going to have on it to my next SCA event.

See www.capiti.de/das-gebende.html which looks extremely a lot like this hat.

I never recommend riding in automobiles even though putting on this corset.
